THE ROUGH

Punk Rock / Skatepunk

The Rough are an amalgamation of former San Diego skatepunk bands seamlessly sewn from balance and pounding clarity that infectiously drives with a staggering prowess that offers a finely finessed combinations of speed, power, and depth brought in from their former experiences. Across the canvas of their white knuckling anthemetic pop punk sound, The Rough serve as a reminder of the love and dedication that still exists deep within the heart of the Southern California music scene, and a phenome of punk rock inspiration, perseverance, and a shared feeling of vulnerability that serves as a reminder, no matter how hard life gets, you’re not alone.
Composed of former San Diego punk bands (Bankers Hill, Motionless, Skipjack, The Binge, Save Amos), The Rough are a quartet evolved naturally as a makeshift super band to utilize their combined experience through melodic Southern California heart-drenched pop punk. The Rough offer a lawyered sound with the harmonic precision and vulnerability of Drew Smith’s powerful voice and poignant lyrics— with a big barrel fat oaky big drum finish, and biting emotional sincerity serving as the vanguard of their shining sounds and Southern Californian character.
